Sebastian Vallejo

Sebastian Vallejo (b. 1982, Puerto Rico) is a Puerto Rican artist based in Austin, TX, whose dynamic paintings explore the interplay between organic forms, intangible structures, and sensory perceptions. His work delves into the optical, cultural, and physical implications of these elements, creating compositions that are both spontaneous and deeply considered.

Vallejo’s work has been widely exhibited, most recently as part of the group show Entre Horizontes: Art & Activism Between Chicago and Puerto Rico at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago (MCA). His work has also garnered recognition in major design and art publications, including New York Spaces, Paper Magazine, and Elle Décor and held in private collections worldwide.

Vallejo holds an MFA (2009) and a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate (2007) from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, as well as a BFA (2004) from the University of Puerto Rico.
